(altro…)

Finkel review: renewable energy to face new security and reliability regulations
New security and reliability obligations will be imposed on power generators, and ageing plants will have to provide regulators with three years’ notice before they close, according to sweeping reforms proposed by Australia’s chief scientist. (altro…)
New Technology Burns Natural Gas with No CO2 Emissions
How can we burn natural gas without releasing CO2 into the air? This feat is achieved using a special combustion method that TU Wien has been researching for years: chemical looping combustion (CLC). In this process, CO2 can be isolated during combustion without having to use any additional energy, which means it can then go on to be stored. This prevents it from being released into the atmosphere. (altro…)
Hard Brexit would cost us £500m a year, says oil and gas industry
Brexit would land the oil and gas industry with a half-billion-pound bill if EU exit talks end with the UK leaving on World Trade Organisation rules, Theresa May has been warned. The costs for trading £73bn worth of oil and gas annually would jump from £600m a year now to £1.1bn in a worst case WTO scenario, analysis for the industry trade body found. (altro…)

Green Charge: The Energy Storage Startup Transforming A $100 Billion Market
The energy storage industry has grown to become a $100 billion market, projected to reach $250 billion by 2040. This massive valuation is due, in part, to more than 50% of consumer energy bills being attributed to peak hour charges. Noticing the need to make energy usage more affordable and efficient, paired with a passion to improve the planet, one entrepreneur launched a company aimed at transforming the way we use energy. Clean Energy for All Europeans – unlocking Europe’s growth potential
The European Commission today presents a package of measures to keep the European Union competitive as the clean energy transition is changing the global energy markets. The Commission wants the EU to lead the clean energy transition, not only adapt to it. For this reason the EU has committed to cut CO2 emissions by at least 40% by 2030 while modernising the EU’s economy and delivering on jobs and growth for all European citizens. Today’s proposals have three main goals: putting energy efficiency first, achieving global leadership in renewable energies and providing a fair deal for consumers.
